Bailey is a translational behaviorist by training with special knowledge of verbal behavior (language). In other words, Bailey has a deep understanding of the fundamental principles of behavior and how they operate in laboratory settings & applies this knowledge in unique & creative ways to everyday behavior issues (including but not limited to problem behavior & language acquisition). For a sample of this type of work, please see one her favorite published articles by clicking here.
Additionally, due to her personal history as a competitive gymnast, springboard diver, & now adult figure-skater, Bailey has particular interest & skill in the application of behavior analysis to athletic performance and coaching. Please message us through the home page if you are interested in discussing potential collaborations with Bailey.
When time allows, Bailey conducts behavior analytic and educational research. She recently completed a grant-funded research position in the Mathematics Education Program at the University of Texas at San Antonio. In this capacity she investigated how a student-mentoring program impacted preservice math teachers’ pedagogy, as well as the math-learning of local community parents who received free tutoring through the program.
Bailey also enjoys occasional part-time appointments at local and remote universities to teach graduate students in behavior analysis & related fields of psychology.
