ABA is a type of 1:1 therapy in which a behavioral therapist uses principles, based on the science of learning and behavior, to teach an individual important life skills and to reduce problem behaviors if necessary.

Although principles based on the science of learning and behavior can be beneficial to anyone, ABA specifically is usually prescribed for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and sometimes Attention Deficit Disorders (ADD/ADHD). In those cases, ABA can sometimes also be referred to as Early Intensive Behavioral Intervention (EIBI) because it is prescribed when a child is very young and is designed to help them acquire important life skills.
However, more and more doctors, medical professionals, and therapists are recognizing the beneficial nature of behavior analysis services for a wide array of individuals; including those without disabilities.
As such, behavior analysis can be applied to a variety of other socially significant issues including but not limited to: weight gain/loss, addiction, exercise, learning, athletic performance, job performance, and much more.
At Behavior Experts of Texas; we provide behavior analysis to individuals with and without disabilities.
When ABA services are prescribed by a qualified health professional (e.g., and MD, PsyD, etc) as an intervention (EIBI) for ASD or ADHD, it can *often* be covered by insurance.
*However, at this time, Behavior Experts of Texas does not accept payment from insurance companies. If your child is prescribed ABA/EIBI by a qualified professional; we may be able to assist you in finding an ABA provider who can accept your insurance and work with you on getting services covered. *
